The Director-General of health service Henry Mwebesa in response to the ongoing medic interns strike has agreed to a round table meeting with intern doctors leadership on Friday afternoon. Among the concerns that have been raised in the last few weeks of the strike include poor working conditions and remuneration.
The meeting is expected to seek a way forward to improve the intern doctors’ working conditions as well as a pay rise for the medical interns. Earlier this week the minister of health Jane Ruth Aceng seemed not to be bothered about the working conditions of the medical interns yet she used to be among the leading advocates in her days as a medical intern.
