Telecom service providers were mandated by the government of Uganda to sell 1/5 of the shares to the public of Uganda so that Ugandans can also benefit directly from this big brand. Today MTN Uganda has officially come out to inform the public that they will be selling 20% of their shares in an initial public offer.

The details for the selling and buying of these shares will be shared in due course. At the moment it is possible to open up a Security Central Depository Account with MTN Uganda. By doing so, you will be able to buy and sell shares using your MTN registered number.
