The principal human resource officer of the Uganda land commission Joan Namulondo was on Tuesday arrested by the parliamentary police for allegedly banking a tune of 150 million Uganda Land commission money on her personal account.
The Uganda Land commission office is one of the most scandalous offices in Uganda. Earlier in April 2022, the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ordered the immediate suspension of the Uganda Land commission bosses in order to begin proper investigations. The Uganda Land commission Chairperson Beatrice Byenkya and Secretary Ms. Barbarah Imaryo were among the top officials who were suspended.
Investigations are still ongoing with the hope that many officials that were involved in corruption and embezzlement of public funds are brought to book.
