In February 2020 during the tenure of Donald Trump; an agreement was reached scheduling the departure of all American troops from Afghanistan by 31st of August 2021. In April 2021, President Joe Biden ordered the full withdrawal of the American troops from Afghanistan.
Since the inception of the idea of the withdrawal of American troops, the country has seen a tremendous takeover of several towns by the Taliban. From July 9th to 16th August, the Government of Afghanistan lost a total of 301 territories with only seven remaining for the contest.
After the suspension of all commercial flights to Afghanistan; many foreigners and citizens remained stranded in Afghanistan. It is only flights for some of the European countries such as the U.K and the United States of America that were seen leaving Kabul were after Unitedstates of America took control of Kabul Airport to evacuate a few remaining American staff in Afghanistan.
