President Museveni has met Masaka families that were aggrieved by the loss of their loved ones during the greater-Masaka Machete murders. The president had promised to condole each family that had lost a loved one during the recent murders with 10 million each.

During the meeting that was held at the statehouse; the president’s message termed the machete assailants as “cowards”. He was quoted saying; “The message to these cowards is that we shall get all of you”

Masaka killings have been a point of great worry to the general public after over 28 people being left in cold blood without proper trances of the people behind the murders. Two weeks ago the Uganda police intensified their patrols in the greater Masaka area arresting over 30 suspects.

It was these arrests that sparked the yet unconfirmed links of Ssegirinya Muhammed and Allan Ssewanyana to the Machete assailants. Yesterday the Magistrates court in Masaka remanded them to Kitalya until 15th September 2021.
