RE: UPDATE OF COVID-19 TESTING AT THE BORDER POINTS OF ENTRY
In order for Uganda to comply with the EAC Sectoral Council of Ministers’ directives for the meeting held on the 21st of January 2022, the following measures will be implemented immediately for travelers and truck drivers arriving at all border points.
1. Uganda will recognize COVID-19 PCR results from East African Community (EAC) accredited laboratories that were jointly accredited by EAC for Covid-19 testing. Travelers should come with Covid-19 results taken within 72 hours.
2. COVID-19 PCR results are currently not required for fully vaccinated travelers including truck drivers to cross the land border of entry
This is therefore to request all Private Laboratories to exit border points of entry premises immediately as it is no longer necessary to conduct any COVID-19 tests at land border points of entry.
