The 25th of June 2021 was declared a public holiday and a national prayer day that gathered religious leaders from the different recognized religious sects in Uganda to pray with the President of Uganda Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni over the issue of Covid-19 in the country.

Among the speeches that were made during this national prayer gathering, Apostle Dr. Joseph Sserwada of Victory Christian Center in Ndeba asked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to appoint a minister for Religious Affairs. Dr. Sserwada has been known for advocating for a separate ministry for religious affairs for over a decade now. His main concern is getting an opportunity where each religious sect gets an opportunity to define legal issues concerning Marriage, divorce and a lot of things in that line
