It was yesterday at night when Uganda re-announced Micho as the head coach of Uganda cranes. He was given a three-year contract with Uganda Cranes. FUFA confirmed Mr. Milutin Micho Sredojevic a renewable contract and the contract is effective from 1st August 2021.
He once coached Uganda cranes and this is the second time to be confirmed as a head coach of Uganda cranes. He first became the manager of Uganda cranes in May 2013 when he replaced Robert Bobby Williamson and signed for 2years contract. His first match for the nation was between Uganda cranes and Libya. unfortunately, he lost the first game with Uganda on a defeat of 3:0 but the issue was Ugandan players were debutantes.
Mr.Milutin had a good record in Uganda football after making Uganda ended in the third position on group stages in group E where it had teams like Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, and Morocco in AFRICON 2014 Qualifiers. Uganda tried to collect 4points from this competition after beating Burkina Faso, lost to morocco, and draw one game with Zimbabwe
In 2015 2015 April Mr. Milutin Micho was awarded another contract of three years as Uganda head coach by FUFA president Moses Magogo for his great performance to the team. in the year 2013 to 2015 Mich had recorded a 60% in the matches he heads for Uganda cranes, in 35games he coached he had 18victory 5draws and 12 losses. In the 2016 CHAN championship that was hosted by Sudan 2:0 in Rwanda and Uganda qualified for CHANand won his first CECAFA cap in 2015 after overcoming Rwanda 1:0. Uganda cranes topped the group after Burundi and Zanzibar in CECAFA. Cranes won Malawi in the quarter-final and went on to win the cap in the final after beating Ethiopia in penalities after the 90minutes and extra went 0:0.
In 2015 Uganda under Micho also managed to qualify for the group stages of the 2018 world cap after winning Togo home and away aggregate of 4:0 after scoring three goals in the second leg with Togo in Mandela National Stadium and 1goal in Togo
It was on Saturday 29 July 2017 at Kabira country club in Kampala Micho Sredojevic confirmed the termination of the three-year contract which he signed in 2015 with the Uganda football governing body. The reason for contract termination was not so clear but according to rumors it was said to be payment issues. he spent several months without getting his salary.
after the termination of his contract with the Uganda cranes Micho went and joined Orland pirates in south Africa on 3ugust 2017, from there he was announced to Zamalek on one-year contraction 17 august 2019 but unfortunately, he never finished his contract and was given a job in Zambia team on 3feb 2020 for 2years contract where he came from to join Uganda cranes for the second time on 27 July 2021 to 2024
