Mabira forest is Uganda’s largest rainforest. The forest occupies 300 square kilometers of land however part of this land has been encroached upon leaving a lot of spaces in some parts of the forest. Today the UPDF under the supervision of Brig Dennis Asiimwe the head of UPDF engineering college has planted five acres of trees in one of the depleted forest covers in the Mabira forest.

With the ever-rising temperatures; restoration of forests that directly contribute to Uganda’s ecosystem is the way to go.
