Elon Musk, the richest man as of 2022, director for Starlink, Tesla, Neuralink and now the new owner of Twitter; has picked interest in donating Starlink internet to hard to reach places. This was after Ham Serunjogi a Ugandan tweep extended a request to donate a few dollars to the cause of providing free Starlink internet to hospitals and schools in Uganda.
Ham was excited about the potential that Starlink internet access would bring to remote and hard to reach areas that lack infrastructure. According to the internet speed test results that he shared on his timeline; Starlink had a whopping 539mbps download internet speed.
In response to his request, Elon Musk promised to add a donate to their Starlink portfolio so that rural hospitals and schools would get good internet access regardless of the absence of infrastructure.
