Ugandan top music export Eddy Kenzo has been nominated in the Grammy awards 2023. His nomination comes barely a week after the biggest local concert in Ugandan history courtesy of Eddy Kenzo.
The Eddy Kenzo festival 2022 was a success that saw close to 50,000 revelers; something that has never happened before in a local concert.
He has been nominated for the Grammy Award for “best global music performance” category “For new vocal or instrumental Global music recordings”. However, he shares his nomination with Matt B who was featured in the Gimme Love song by Eddy Kenzo.
Matthew David Benson alias Matt B is an American musician, record producer, songwriter, and singer who has done music mostly in the genres of Hip Hop and R&B. His biggest album “Eden” has featured on the Top 40 billboard’s R&B albums chart.
Eddy Kenzo’s Gimme Love featuring Matt B is to battle it out with the following music icons for the same grammy award.

Based on popularity, Burna Boy is the favorite in this category; but the nomination today places Eddy Kenzo in the category of his own given the fact that there is no Ugandan that has ever been nominated in the grammy awards.
Eddy Kenzo has won several international awards including but not limited to a BET Award in 2015, All Africa music awards, and Nickelodeon Kids’ choice award among several other international awards.
