KBS Television, one of the leading entertainment television stations in Uganda popularly known for airing foreign locally translated movies has finally completed the airing of the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series.
The series was mainly about time travel until a twist was introduced; One of the lead characters who was a woman (Sara Lance) fell in love with someone of the same gender (Ava Sharpe). This turn of events made the series which was grounded on time travel and saving the world switch to time travel for the sake of saving loved ones.
With the story switching to a love drama, another character that had feelings for a fellow man was also introduced in the story. It is this character that was comforted by Ava Sharpe to pursue his feelings for a fellow man after all Ava Sharpe was already in a relationship with a fellow woman.
The show was canceled making the seventh-season episodes to be the last season of the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series
Though these television series are rated 14 years. They aired daily on KBS television every evening at 6:00 pm without any disclaimer. The Uganda communications commission is yet to issue any sermon to KBS television for airing LGBTQ+ series as well as airing a rated 14 program without any disclaimer.
However, KBS television should be applauded for editing out all sex scenes from these series while airing. Most of the Ugandans had brushed this under the carpet until Jose Chameleone and his brother Weasle made a scene during the Gwanga Mujje Concert.
Ugandans are now in an uproar over homosexuality and other non-traditional gender-based identities. It should be noted that Uganda is predominantly a monotheistic society built on Christianity and Muslim norms. Though these are not followed to the letter, the non-traditional genders do not identify with any of these two religions in Uganda.
