Edgar Lungu a sixty-four old who has also been the sixth president of Zambia since independence has conceded defeat in the recently concluded election. He was defeated by Hakainde Hichilema whom he promised to support in ensuring peaceful transfer of power.
Hakainde Hichilema is a 59-year-old Zambian businessman who has contested for the presidency of Zambia for the last 15 years. He started his quest for the presidency in 2006; followed by 2008, 2011, 2015, and 2016. In all these attempts, he failed to make it through for the presidency until 2021 when his dream came true.
