Stories of the evacuation of about 200o refugees to Uganda courtesy of the United States of America have been trending in Uganda. Today a bunch of 51 Afghan refugees who include; men, women, and children arrived in Uganda in a chartered flight. It should be noted that all commercial flights to or from Kabul were suspended a few weeks ago just after the Taliban militants took overthrew the government.

In a half-full chartered flight that arrived today at Entebbe international airport; reports from the ministry of internal affairs in Uganda claim that those slots had to be occupied by Ugandans who were to exit Afghanistan unfortunately they were unable to make it to Kabul international airport. For this reason, the flight left Kabul with only Afghan refugees.

The ministry of internal affairs said in its press statement that arrangements are still underway to evacuate Ugandans who wish to exit Afghanistan.
