Uganda will be looking to get their first win in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in the third round today when they host Congo-Brazzaville in a Group E encounter at the Mandela National Stadium.
Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
Uganda managed to hold Ghana at a goalless draw away in the first game of group E which was played in Tamale Stadium early last month.
This draw left Uganda placed third on the group standings with one point – two behind Egypt who is leading the group after defeating Congo-Brazzaville.
Geoffrey Massa the Uganda Cranes Team Captain played a vital part during the Crane’s recent successful 2017 AFCON qualifying and now he is to lead his country to victory when they host the dangerous Congo-Brazzaville at Mandela National Stadium.
As a preparation for the Sunday match with Congo, Uganda had an international friendly match with Zambia which was played in Kampala on Tuesday and Chipolopolo won 0-1 on day.
Milutin “Micho” Sredejovic the Uganda Cranes head coach clarified that they benefited from this defeat as they now know where to improve a head of Saturday’s match.
“The last result against Zambia was a disappointment, yet I have picked a lot of positives from the match in preparation the match Congo Brazzaville against Congo Brazzaville,” Sredejovic said.
“We still have 3 more training session where the concentration will be put on man management partnership forging department management and team management.
Then, Congo-Brazzaville will target only an away win when they clash with Uganda Cranes today.
