Uganda has untapped tourism potential

Uganda is a beautiful nation blessed with awesome natural beauty in its widely varied vegetation. This makes it a focal point of attraction for tourists from around the globe. Thus, the government is trying hard to market the nation as a tourist destination to the outside world.

The old government under the dictator Idi Amin made Uganda a loner state affecting the tourism industry of the nation since tourists from different parts of the world feared to visit the country due to insecurity. This government is focusing on reforms for attracting international tourists.

Uganda has famous tourist destinations in almost all the part of the country for example in the west where you can find the Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife watching, Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks the Home to the rare and endangered mountain gorillas, in the northwestern part of the country you can find Murchison Falls National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park in the northeastern corner of the country. Gorilla Trekking is the major tourist attraction in the country.

Without a doubt, Uganda is an interesting tourist destination. The southwestern highlands have mountainous regions close to the border with Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
