Uganda has booked its slots in the Afro basketball quarter-finals after edging Nigeria with 80 points against 68 points respectively. Both teams had lost their previous matches but Nigeria seemed to be the favorite in this match. The table turned after Uganda winning the first round with 24 points against Nigeria’s 12 points.
The hopes remained high for Nigeria until they lost the second and third round respectively. With 67 points against 49 points by the end of the third round, the silverbacks were left with only one option; to defend their lead in the fourth round. Nigeria only edged Uganda in the fourth round with 19 points against 13 points for Uganda but this was not enough to help them edge Uganda in the final totals.
