Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the United Arab Emirates died today at the age of 73 years. He took over power in November 2004 as the second president of the United Arab Emirates. Though he has been the president for close to 20 years, since 2014; his brother Adu Dhabi Prince Mohammed bin Zayed has been handling almost all the leading issues of UAE.
The inception of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s sickness was a stroke that was followed by surgery in 2014. Even amidst his bed-ridden state; Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has continued to issue rulings until his death.
In his tenure as the president of the United Arab Emirates, the country was able to receive its first Olympic medal in August 2004. In January 2010, the tallest tower in the whole world was opened in Dubai. Among the other achievements includes the space exploration endeavours that have been done during his presidential tenure.
