Two men and a Gospel Artist Arrested in Mobile Money Theft

A female gospel musician and two more guys were arrested by police on Thursday evening for alleged theft of 950,000/= from a Mobile money deal along Kabale – Katuna road in the south western Uganda.

The spokesperson of Kigezi Region Mr. Maate Elly identified the suspects as Sam Sayuni 35, from Kasubi in Rubaga, Mutambira John 32, a resident Nsambya in Makindye Division and the famous gospel artist Lillian Keitetsi from Bwebajja in Kampala.

According to the spokesman of the Kigezi Region, the suspects were in Toyota Harrier with number plate UAN 737E and they went to withdraw cash from the Mobile Money agent and they requested to withdraw 950K Uganda shillings.

Mr. Elly also added that, the suspects used any empty message to withdraw money which the mobile money dealer Mrs. Tusiime Fortunate realized after they had left.

She reported the case to police who tracked the suspects and arrested them at the local Equity Bank Branch found in Kabala Town.

The police have started investigation in the matter and when they are over the three suspects will be aligned in courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
