The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Felix Kaweesi will be buried on Tuesday at his tribal home in Kyazanga, Lwengo area after morning mass in his honor.
The AIGP was killed by shooters on motorcycles 10 minutes after leaving his home in Kampala on Friday at around 9:15am. The AIGP was killed with his Driver Constable Geoffrey Mambewa and his Bodyguard Corporal Jenneth Erau.
The bodyguard and driver were buried on Monday at their respective homes
“All security agencies in the country should be on high alert to anyone who looks to be a threat. Anything suspicious… do something immediately,” he said at Kaweesi’s home on Monday.
“We might get them…we should kill or catch them. In case they fear to die they ought to surrender.”
The IGP Kale Kayihura said Kaweesi was committed to his work and emerged.
“Generals never die, they simply blur away. The soul tallies and his soul will positively beyond words.”
He also added that, the death of Kaweesi will motivate police to do their best in dealing with crime.
Buganda Katikiro Peter Mayiga said anybody could be next.
“Numerous Ugandans, including me, now live in dread,” Mayiga said yet called for discourse and compromise to end bloodshed.
He once filled in as head of police operations in more prominent Kampala and picked up noticeable quality for overseeing successive arrest of Uganda’s main opposition leader Kizza Besigye.
