After the loss to Cape Verde in their quarter-final match, the silverbacks were scheduled to return home in a day or two unfortunately they have been denied exit from Park Inn Hotel in Kigali due to failure to meet their hotel bills that have been accumulated during their tournament stay in Rwanda.

The silverbacks were on the edge of not making it for the Afro basketball tournament 2021 in Rwanda after failing to receive funding from the government. At the midnight hour, they were able to receive a few hundreds of millions from the government just enough for them to make it to the tournament. The team was on the verge of exiting the tournament due to failure to meet their bills.

Park Inn hotel in Kigali is one of the midrange hotels in Rwanda’s Capital Kigali Rwanda offering accommodation services ranging between $120 and $130 per night. With the prolonged stay at the hotel, the silverbacks will also have to pay for the days they have stayed at the hotel against their will.

Apparently; the ministry of sports and education in Uganda has not issued any press statement regarding this matter. We shall update you as soon as the ministry of sports and Education in Uganda responds to the crisis.
