Passenger Plane Crashes at Wau airport, South Sudan

Passengers were pulled from the burning wreckage after the plane belonging to South Supreme Airlines crashed at Wau Airport in South Sudan and at least 44 people are feared dead.

According to initial reports, the accident happened at around 15:00hrs local time on Monday when the plane went down as it attempted to land at Wau Airport.

The passenger plane was coming from the capital Juba.

Fire engines rushed to the plane when it crash-landed. Photos from the scene showed smoke billowing from the wreckage and all over the runway area of the airport.
