A fuel carrier car bursted into flames at Uganda-D.R.Congo Goli customs in Nebbi district before sunrise this Friday morning. The accident is said to have been caused by friction from the brakes that produced fire sparks that might have been the reason behind the fire. The residents of Goli said they heard the noise of a car attempting an instant braking which was followed by the car bursting into flames.
The accident left two cars burnt down and also 5 houses destroyed. Luckily, no life was lost and the track driver’s whereabouts are still unknown. In the same incident, a 7 months baby was also rescued.
Business at the border is now moving slow with cars that were intended to cross the border stranded until the situation normalises.
