After the long draught the country has experienced since November 2016, the country has started receiving some rain fall. Unfortunately the rainfall also have come up with different challenges.
Due to heavy rain that hit most parts of the nation on Monday have cut off the Mbale -Tirinyi highway, Kampala Sun News has been educated. This is the main highway that connects Kampala the capital city of Uganda to the eastern region and it’s the same road to go through to Uganda and Kenya board where most imported goods pass to enter the country.
As per Sowali Kamulya the spokesperson of Budeki Police station, the ferocious rainfall cut off two bridges on this highway.
Mr. Kamulya also added that, these two bridges where under construction and one person died after a taxi registration number UAY 808Y carrying 14 passengers was swept by the floods.
“Police is on ground to help avert the situation.”
