Following Capital Chicken’s press statement on 3rd October where they informed the public that they were trying to work out their licensing issues with Capital Markets Authority; the Capital Markets Authority of Uganda (CMA) has issued a statement clarifying its dealings with Capital Chicken (SMC) Limited.

CMA said that they were aware of the concerns that have been raised by the public regarding investment contracts offered by “Capital Chicken (SMC) Limited”. They reiterated that Capital Chicken Limited is not authorized to offer investment contracts to the public as per section 90 of the Capital Markets Authority Act (cap 84)

Though Capital Chicken management in their press release had informed the public that their closure was temporary; CMA has clarified that their closure is temporary, rather a matter that is being handled by the Uganda police criminal investigations Directorate.
