The Cecafa U-23 tournament that was supposed to kick off on the 3rd of July 2021 in Ethiopia has been postponed. A new date will be communicated in the near future
Only a week ago, Uganda has finished paying its $20,000 registration fees for the tournament. Last week; the chief executive officer Auka Gacheo was quoted saying that everything was moving on well to ensure a successful tournament, and the only thing left was for the teams to complete their registration fee obligation.
Teams that were to future in the tournament include; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Zanzibar
There have been rumors that the tournament will not happen next month due to the covid-19 threats.
