Today the Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema who had contended for the presidency in Zambia since 2006 has been sworn in this afternoon as the new president of Zambia taking over from Edgar Chagwa Lungu who vowed to leave power in peace a few weeks ago.
Though the National Unity Platform president commonly known by his stage name Bobi Wine claims that he received an invitation for this memorable event. His attempts to leave the country were frustrated making it impossible for him to attend this special swear-in ceremony. Unfortunately, he didn’t share details of how he was frustrated.
Robert Kyagulanyi said in his Facebook post that he extended a message of deep sorrow and regret to the Zambia Inauguration committee. He promised to share the details in the coming days though he remains thankful for the invitation.
